On arrival

On arrival you will be welcomed by our friendly reception team. You will be asked to complete a medical history form and also to give some details about dental treatment you have received in the past & your expectations for your future treatment.

At your first dentist appointment

When it's time for you to see the dentist, you will be shown into the surgery and given time to settle down before your examination or treatment begins. You can rest assured that we use a range of state of the art equipment to enable us to diagnose and treat problems as easily as possible. We're also fully computerised which means that your records are always easily accessible by our dentists and staff.

Your first appointment will be with Dr Harry and it’s an opportunity for you to get to know each other. He will talk to you in detail to find out what you would like them to do for you. He will thoroughly examine your teeth, gums, soft tissue, jaw joints, and occlusion (bite). He will normally take digital X-rays as these show what can’t be seen directly – those areas between, inside and underneath your teeth, gums, and the bone supporting your teeth - and are often essential for diagnosing the causes of pain or discomfort. Dr Harry will talk to you about, and explain, treatment options and provide a written estimate.

At your first hygiene appointment

The gums and bone around your teeth are their foundations, and preventing and treating periodontal (gum) disease is of prime importance for a healthy, pain free mouth throughout life.

Dr Harry will carry out a thorough investigation of your gums to identify any areas where you may have, or could develop, gum disease. He will explain exactly what He finds and involve you in discovering the best ways for you to remove the damaging plaque from all the nooks and crannies where it collects, by tooth brushing, flossing, and other techniques.

He will carry out any necessary professional cleaning. If you have gum disease which is more advanced, then more than one visit may be necessary.

After your appointment

For your next appointment we'll arrange the best times to suit your diary.

Before you leave us, don’t forget to stock up on oral hygiene products from our shop where you’ll find a range of dental products at competitive prices.

We know that it’s easy to get out of the habit of seeing a dentist. So if it’s been a while, don’t worry, we are here to help.

We look forward to seeing you.
